Adolescent Medicine
The American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists recommends that young
women have their first appointment with an OBGYN between the ages of 12 and 14.
These early visits normally do not involve a physical exam, but provide an opportunity
for young women ask questions and get to know their gynecologist – which can help
relieve the anxiety of visiting an OBGYN for the first time.
Highlands has several physicians that have a special interest in adolescent medicine.
If your daughter experiences heavy or painful periods, or if she simply wants
