Adolescent Medicine
The American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists recommends that young
women have their first appointment with an OB-GYN between the ages of 12 and 14.
These early visits normally do not involve a physical exam, but provide an opportunity
for young women ask questions and get to know their gynecologist – which can help
relieve the anxiety of visiting an OB-GYN for the first time.
Highlands has several physicians that have a special interest in adolescent medicine. If your daughter experiences heavy or painful periods, or if she simply wants to meet with a physician to ask questions, please call our office at 864-234-0700. |
